Ken brings over a dozen years of construction project management experience with local homebuilders ranging from basic tract building to high end custom homes. His last venture before starting H.I.T. was managing the production department with a large local homebuilder. He chose to step away from the day-to-day management of new home construction to slow down and take his experience to deliver an overall positive experience for our customers versus a focus on volume and bottom-line numbers. He has a Business Management degree from Longwood University and enjoys spending his free time with family but can also be found on the golf course every now and then. Ken manages the day-to-day operation of all active projects and communicates directly with our customers to set expectations and follow through with execution of the scope of work.
Sales/Business Development Manager
Born and raised in Chesterfield County, Matt currently resides in Midlothian with his wife Michelle and their 4 children. Matt attended Meadowbrook High School In Chesterfield County and then continued his education at Virginia Commonwealth University. After college, Matt’s passion for people and love of cars led him into the automotive industry. There he became focused on service and customer experience, ensuring every interaction was positive and helpful for clients. After a decade in the car business, Matt continued his career in sales and process development with one of the top financial companies in Richmond. There he focused on improving customer experience by working on processes that started with the customer goal first and worked backwards to also achieve the company need. Matt brings his passion for people and customer experience to the Construction industry, and enjoys assisting clients in reimagining their space to make their home lives easier. When not working, you can find him supporting VCU athletics, attempting to get better at the game of golf, or trying to find the closest beach to park a chair on.
Client Experience Manager
Grace is our Client Experience Manager helping with daily functions of the company. She Graduated from VCU in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. Since then, she has worked for local builders learning the ins and outs of new construction. In 2022 she joined the Home Improvement Team and has really found her niche. She manages the process of each client’s unique job. She takes the burden off the client by doing all behind-the-scenes scheduling and communications. Her main goal is to make your process from estimate approval to beginning of construction as smooth and expedited as possible. When not at work she can be found at the gym, or spending time with her American Bully, Buxton.
Senior Construction Manager
James has been involved in construction since 1993 with experience in new home track building, custom home building, as well as additions and remodels. Originally from Richmond, VA, James went straight into the workforce and worked as a self employed trim and punch carpenter. James has a wife and son and in his time off he enjoys playing golf and surf fishing in Hatteras, North Carolina. James serves as HIT’s Senior Construction Manager overseeing all aspects of our client’s construction projects.
Seth was born and raised in the city of Richmond. With over a decade of experience in production and warranty management in the building industry. He graduated from VCU and worked in financial risk management before finding his passion in the world of residential home building. Seth has had great success in everything from large scale production building, managing entire neighborhoods at a time, to smaller local building focusing on high end custom houses. His experience led him into a management role where he trained, and developed construction project managers as well as produced procedures, policies, and plans for future company growth. While helping to eliminate cost loss due to production quality issues. He is now proud to bring this experience to Home Improvement Team as their Production Manager.
