General Manager

Ken brings over a dozen years of construction project management experience with local homebuilders ranging from basic tract building to high end custom homes. His last venture before starting H.I.T. was managing the production department with a large local homebuilder. He chose to step away from the day-to-day management of new home construction and take his experience to deliver an overall positive experience for our customers versus a focus on volume and bottom-line numbers. Ken has a Business Management degree from Longwood University and enjoys spending his free time with family but can also be found on the golf course every now and then. Ken manages the day-to-day operation of all active projects and communicates directly with our customers to set expectations and follow through with execution of the scope of work.

Sales/Business Development Manager

Born and raised in Chesterfield County, Matt currently resides in Midlothian with his wife Michelle and their four children. Matt attended Meadowbrook High School in Chesterfield County and then continued his education at VCU.  After college, Matt’s passion for people and love of cars led him into the automotive industry. There he became focused on service and customer experience, ensuring every interaction was positive and helpful for clients.  After a decade in the car business, Matt continued his career in sales and process development with one of the top financial companies in Richmond. There he focused on improving customer experience by working on processes that started with the customer goal first and worked backwards to also achieve the company need.  Matt brings his passion for people and customer experience to the construction industry, and enjoys assisting clients in reimagining their space to make their home lives easier.  When not working, you can find him supporting VCU athletics, attempting to get better at the game of golf, or trying to find the closest beach to park a chair on.

Purchasing Manager 

Chris brings more than 35 years of experience in residential construction to his role as Purchasing Manager at Home Improvement Team. With a deep understanding of estimating, pricing, and design, he plays a critical role in ensuring each project is thoughtfully planned, accurately budgeted, and executed to the highest standard.

Throughout his career, Chris has done it all—from building homes hands-on to owning his own business focused on high-end custom reproduction work, as well as collaborating with some of the most respected names in new construction. His well-rounded background allows him to see projects from every angle, balancing craftsmanship, creativity, and cost-effectiveness.

Outside of work, Chris lives on a farm in Rockwell with his wife, kids, dogs, and horses. When he’s not on the job site, he enjoys fishing, hunting, and woodworking—interests that reflect his appreciation for craftsmanship and the outdoors.

Design & Selection Coordinator

Dominique is a Richmond-based interior designer with a background in communications, real estate, and event planning. After earning her BA in Communications in Business, Dominique began her career in New York assisting in coordination of events for weddings, and companies like Facebook, Instagram, Benefit Cosmetics & more. It was through this that she developed a real passion for design. While working in design and real estate she expanded her creativity. In 2022, she relocated to Richmond to pursue interior design full time, working with a home stager and designer before joining the Home Improvement Team in 2025. Known for her creativity, organization, and warm communication style, Dominique brings a thoughtful, client-focused approach to every project. Outside of design, she enjoys hiking, yoga, cooking, and gardening. 

Office Manager

Lisha brings years of experience and enthusiasm to her role as Office Manager with the Home Improvement Team. With a background that includes work with a state trade association, a chamber of commerce, GE Personal Financial Services, and most recently Long & Foster Real Estate, she has built a strong foundation in organization, process management, and client service. Her attention to detail and natural ability to bring order to busy environments make her a key part of the team’s success.

A graduate of Marshall University, Lisha has a deep appreciation for history and culture—and an even deeper passion for helping people. Growing up in a home her father built, surrounded by gardens and farm life, she developed a lifelong love for home, family, and the great outdoors. Whether she’s cooking for loved ones, pulling weeds in the garden, or swimming in the Gulf, Lisha brings heart and energy to everything she does.

Her warm personality shines through in every interaction. At work, her people-first mindset fits her role perfectly and helps clients and team members feel right at home.

Pawject Manager

Meet Hank — a shaggy, shepherd-mutt mix with a heart as big as the homes we remodel. As the unofficial (but very much essential) Chief Morale Officer of Home Improvement Team, Hank takes his job very seriously. He’s Seth’s loyal sidekick, a certified service dog, and the only team member who can nap on the job and still be called a productivity booster.

From supervising site visits with his soulful eyes to offering emotional support in the form of surprise snuggles and tail wags, Hank brings calm to the chaos of construction. He’s known to greet vendors like old friends, charm clients with his gentle presence, and keep the team grounded — usually by lying directly on their feet.

Whether he's riding shotgun in the truck or making executive decisions from his favorite sunny patch of floor, Hank reminds us daily that home is more than drywall and design — it's about love, loyalty, and a little fur in the air.

Marketing Manager

Amanda brings more than a decade of experience helping businesses build strong, thoughtful brands that actually perform.

Her background spans real estate, home renovation, higher education, fitness, and hospitality, giving her a well-rounded perspective on how service-based businesses grow in competitive markets. Amanda specializes in brand strategy, creative direction, and digital marketing, with a focus on building marketing foundations that support long-term success — not just quick wins.

At Home Improvement Team, she leads brand strategy, content, and creative across platforms, ensuring every touchpoint reflects the care and expertise behind the work itself.

Originally from Chicago and now based in Richmond, Virginia, Amanda brings a mix of Midwest nice and no-nonsense grit to everything she does. Outside of work, she’s usually tackling a home project, experimenting in the kitchen, making candles, or finding time to get outdoors.
