Bathroom Remodeling Ideas

The bathroom to me is one of the two most important parts of the home, especially if you are trying to sell the home, you want both of these to shine and light up the house. There are many things that you can do to begin your bathroom remodeling project, let’s start off with one of the simplest things that you can do.

First thing you need to do before you start remodeling your bathroom is to decide on what type of theme you are going to use for the bathroom. This isn’t really set in stone that you have to pick a theme, I am just giving my opinion. For instance the bath rugs should match the bath towels, and the shower curtain should also match both of those.

Some homes will go a step further, and resurface the counter tops that are in the bathroom, or upgrade them into a higher quality type of bathroom counter top such as marble, which you could also decorate the rest of the bathroom along with that also. Hanging pictures in your bathroom is another easy way to decorate the area, along with painting it, which is one of the cheapest ways to upgrade a room there are in my opinion.

What Type of Paint to Use For Bathroom?

I would recommend a semi-gloss paint with a mold resistant primer under it, such as Kilz. Semi-gloss paint will give the bathroom a nice sheen and shine. Just make sure that when you are purchasing the paint for your bathroom that you ask the sales associate if it will work for bathrooms. Understand that there is a lot of moisture from showers that go on in bathrooms, and the paint will have to be able to withstand the growth of mold. On that note all bathrooms should have an exhaust fan hooked up in them, and turned on only when the shower is running.

Upgrade the Toilet in the Bathroom

This is one thing that can make or break a bathroom. Me personally I like the elongated toilets better than the rounded ones. Not only do they give you more room to sit when you are taking care of business, they also have a more modern look to them, and make a bathroom look nicer in my opinion.

Upgrading Sinks and Faucets

The options are almost limitless right here. They have bathroom sinks that stand alone and do not even need a counter top, and there are also copper type sinks that are available that will fit right into your countertop, given that the hole is cut out properly. Besides painting though, I think that replacing the faucet is the easiest and one of the cheapest parts of your bathroom remodel project.

These are just a couple bathroom remodeling ideas that you can consider. It all counts on how much space it is you have, and how much money you are willing to put into your bathroom remodel.
